Ice Cream Cart in Balboa Park San Diego by Riccoboni

This painting by Riccoboni is an Acrylic on paper, 2007. of beautiful El Prado along Balboa Park in San Diego, California and its museums built in outstanding Spanish Colonial architecture. done in the realism style this acrylic is painted on textured watercolor paper. Here is the National Historic Landmark House of Hospitality building, also known as the house of the sun king. With over 1200 acres of culture, the largest cultural center west of the Mississippi, recreation and natural beauty, Balboa Park is one of the largest urban parks in the country. On average, over 36,000 people use Balboa Park every day. With an unlimited amount of visual opportunity It is the centerpiece for many of Riccoboni’s paintings.

I often return to Balboa Park in San Diego, for inspiration. Being an architecture buff, it is one of my favorite places in the US. I can spend hours there relaxing in the gardens, studying the buildings and enjoying the many exhibits in its museums. I especially like seeing the other artists out and about the park creating their masterpieces in plein air. More about this artist

The strong light of that part of the world, is beautifully replicated in this evocative acrylic painting.
Strong colour, and an atmsophere of sun and relaxation, is well conveyed. here.
The fine architecture and light, in the Latin world.
