Old San Diego City Hall painting by RD Riccoboni. Old San Diego City Hall is located on the corner of Fifth Avenue a G Street, in the Gaslamp nieghborhood of downtown San Diego California.
This Italianate building built in 1887 was San Diego’s second city hall, the granite used in the building is local, from the nearby city of El Cajon. The fist city hall is in Old Town which I have also painted. The building now houses a restaurant on the fisrt floor and trendy loft apartments above.

Riccoboni appreciates both new and old San Diego, along with the California history that surrounds these settings.
