Scars

We all have scars we want to hide,
to bury deep away inside.
Where do they come from?
Oh, where do they come from?
I’ll tell you, people, I picked mine up along the road,
I didn’t look for them, they followed me back home.
I wouldn’t show them to anyone, not to anyone.
Not even you, my friend,
I’m sure you’ve got scars too.

They lie there feeding in the dust,
devouring scraps of love and trust.
And keep on hurting…
Why do they keep on hurting?
I thought that I’d forgotten all about my scars
but the pain is there whenever I let down the bars.
I wouldn’t show them to anyone, not to anyone.
Not even you, my friend,
I’m sure you’ve got scars too.

Scars of old love that hasn’t died,
scars of tears that never should have been cried at all,
scars of dark dead ends that I just had to try.
I wouldn’t show them to anyone – no, not to anyone.
Not even you, my friend,http://ih1.redbubble.net/image.12255624.7648/fl...
I’m sure you’ve got scars too.
We all do.
