oh wooden door,
so out of place
in city metalclad,
so unlike all the others neighboring,
i wonder who was foolhardy
or perhaps so homesick
as to have commanded you installed?
or do you wear a mask,
your rustic charm disguising
iron bars to keep the world at bay?
i cannot tell
but smile to see you standing,
an alien in your world
as much as i am surely just the same
