conjuring amy lowell

once again it snows
the world is iced surreal
i bought spring flowers

the sunless sea
the starless sky
the treeless plain
are all familiar territory
to the solitary
we decorate them as we wish
you will not notice

i am alone
in the winter of my life
christ! will it never end?

I always say that I am solitary, but not lonely – what a liar I am!

  • I don’t deny the loneliness…because solitary get really old after awhile.

Sad words which pluck the heart strings, especially when I think or all the people I know who are both ‘solitary’ and ‘lonely’.Terry

  • We are legion, Terry, thank you.
