descent

when the tunnel takes me
to that place
i know i am
descending into madness once again
nothing about that room is right
it’s a cold crazyquilt of colors
that jangle and shift
and the only way out
is down those slippery stairs
the paint peels
and flakes of it fall like toxic snow
as i grasp the handrail
and force myself once again
downdowndown
to face my demons
and prove myself once more
to unnamed gods

Sounds remarkably like one of my dreams, perhaps I`m not the only one. Thank you I liked this.

  • I’m glad it spoke to you but sorry you have those dreams too.
