Anyone who knows New Haven, Connecticut knows Claire’s. Opened in 1975 on the corner of Chapel and College Streets in the heart of downtown as Claire’s Corner Copia, it has since given up the corner space on Chapel Street. Claire and Frank Criscuolo offer organic dishes based on a tradition of Italian peasant cuisine of grains, fruits and vegetables. Claire’s has been a community gathering place for decades and will no doubt continue as one of the landmarks of New Haven culture.

There is always warmth in your art that I find very appealing. Great subject! Reminds me of the lower east side in New York where I spent a summer.

  • It’s a New Haven tradition, I’m sure you’d enjoy it there, thank you.
