The historic Pigeon Point lighthouse (built 1871), fifty miles south of San Francisco – my favorite American city – on Highway 1, rises against a dramatic dawn sky.
Pigeon Point Light and Point Arena Light are the same height, the tallest lighthouses on the West Coast of the United States. This lighthouse and surrounding land have been designated as Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park and stretches between Santa Cruz and San Francisco, California, USA.
Textured digital oil painting from an original photograph shot during an odyssey from San Diego up the Pacific Coast Highway; February 1999.
