A young Plymouth (aka Barred) Rock rooster pauses to observe his flock.
I use the term gentleman loosely here – this wretched bird not only began crowing around 3 AM every morning – long before sunrise – but also chased and pecked any human within striking range who couldn’t get out of his way fast enough. He did make a fabulous broth, though, I was told. I’d returned home from Colorado by the time he hit the stewpot and didn’t get to taste any.
