Somewhere in England, behind a waterfall of ivy, hides a small cottage. There is an iron fence extending from the sides round the back, but the overgrowth is so thick it’s difficult to see it.

There is a weather-beaten red door with a rusted, tarnished knocker that doesn’t seem to have been lifted for decades. It is rumored, in the village, that an old, old man fleeing who knows what consequences of life inhabits the cottage, but no one in recent memory has ever seen him.

Foodstuffs are delivered once weekly and left in a sturdy wooden box on the doorstep. Eventually the box reappears – emptied – outside the door and is picked up, restocked and re-delivered on the appointed day.

One wonders…

Their ivy mantles, and the solemn scene
Derives from thee a sense so deep and clear
That we become a part of what has been,
And grow unto the spot, all-seeing but unseen.
    (Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage)

This is very lovely Gina and I really love your romantic stories for them – I still think you should write a book and use your awesome images to illustrate it :-) oxoxox
