After a tremendous Fourth of July in the company of this lovely young friend of mine, I wanted to portray our excitement to be part of this glorious land. Through troubles and imperfections, we celebrate this magnificant country. Dedicated to those who lost their lives and the brave policemen and firefighters who tried to save lives during the 9/11 tragedy. Base captures for the collage were made in Largo, Florida, USA. Both the fireworks and portrait image were captured at the same Largo Fourth of July celebration.

    absolutely beautiful!

  • Thank you! I was experimenting a little with the close crop of the portrait. But I was lucky with some elements of the piece, like the way the hatband fabric stood out in the picture. My featured friend was happy with it too…so that made it worthwhile!

  • Thanks! And I in turn love your water lily image “Where time stands still.” Your description of the experience was wonderful as well.

positively brilliant! Gary & I are working on an acrylic on canvas series now referencing the “disintegration of American society & government”, how ironic….

Love your work; lot’s of fun!! We do some very similar pieces; kindred spirits…. Cheers!!

  • Wow, thanks for the wonderful comment. I just was very pleased and tickled by the wonderful portrait “Max”.

Such beautiful work!! I love the sentiment, too. America is far from perfect but I wouldn’t live anywhere else. xo

  • Well, absolutely true, and when we make it through this rough patch, we will certainly have gained a lot of wisdom; then we should be better than ever!
