memories from the acid house

huddled on a chair
glad for once to be short
and wishing only that it would be nice to retract further
to curl up like a cat
and hide there a while
from my realigning brain chemistry

i take what i can get though
and don’t fret the details
besta’s on the couch
spun is on the tv
and the ugliest room in the world
is covered in dead glowsticks and lolly wrappers

kirra’s in her room
where she waits on her own
for this part of the weekend
which is closer to monday
to be done with itself
one more time

it’s always like this
once the party’s over
our weird not-family
learning to be normal again
while the walls stop warping from acid
and we bide our time
till it all starts again
same time
next week.

This was written in memory of a crazy house with some crazy housemates where I shared some crazy experiences. Not something that was at all sustainable for much longer than it lasted, but fun times.. :)
