THE ELEVENTH HOUR
NO DISRESPECT MEANT TOWARDS ANY PAST OR SERVING MILITARY PERSONNEL, BUT I STILL BELIEVE THAT WE MUST FIND A BETTER WAY FORWARD IN THIS MAD WORLD!! I HAVE SPOKEN TO MANY EX-SERVICE MEN OVER THE YEARS, AND THEY CAN BE THE MOST ANTI-WAR PEOPLE YOU COULD MEET!!
LEST WE FORGET!!
THE ELEVENTH HOUR belongs to the following groups:
! Creative Writing & Poetry !, All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Anger Management, ART ACTION UNION - CREATIVE ACTIVISM, Core [C.O.R.E], Melbourne & Victoria and Vibration in Art and Verse - VAVoom!NO GLORY IN WAR!
NO JOY IN DEATH ON A FOREIGN SHORE.
NO WINNERS, ONLY LOSERS.
WHAT LESSONS LEARNED
FROM BODIES SMASHED, BLOWN AND BURNED?
OLD MEN SENDING THE YOUNG TO FIGHT
AND DIE FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!
EVIL LEADERS FILLING PEOPLES’ MINDS WITH HATE.
WOMEN RAPED, CHILDREN SLAUGHTERED.
WHOLE NATIONS DRAWN AND QUARTERED!
A REPEATED, HORRIFYING WASTE.
ITS’ MEMORIES ONLY BRING
A BITTER TASTE.

I do not disagree with one word you’ve said….
However, today for me is not about the madness of why rather it is about the sadness of loss…
And why is it since the birth of civilisation we’ve engaged in war after war,
Are humans incapable of learning?
Do we forget so easily the utter horrifying ramifications of war..
raymondoantonio replied
YOU ARE RIGHT LISA, A TIME TO REFLECT AND REMEMBER…....X

Brother, you have written this with conviction and I feel you.

I’m entirely with Lisa on this – and I too agree with all you’ve said Raymondo. Fortunately we can hold both of those understandings in our heads at the same time because they are not contradictory. This is a powerful statement, very compelling!
raymondoantonio replied
THANX LIANNE, I AGREE WITH BOTH OF YOU….......X

This line WHOLE NATIONS DRAWN AND QUARTERED! holds much weight with me. I don’t believe in war, but I don’t know what the answers are so I really don’t speak for or against. I have friends who died in 9/11 so I have a hatred of terrorism. I also have a love for my country and both my father and husband are veterans. Without taking down and rebuilding how do we fix things? How do governments come together and agree that it’s ok to run countries differently? Oh I have no answers or even suggestions, but I do appreciate a good, heartfelt and thought-provoking write. Congratulations on being featured.

Cannot stand…nor understand the glory of pain,
ravaging the souls with concepts and intromission.
We are not perfect and we are so, at the same time.
Blending altruism with sadism….
ascetism with mutism,
This is a mad world and a world of mad souls.
And all the same…
We are….as inocent as to be blamed.
