Taken a few weeks back on a trip to a party in Sunderland !!

Fountains Abbey, North Yorkshire .. well worth a few revisits me thinks !!
There is a river running under this part of the Abbey !! and two people in the distance to give a feel to the size and depth of the place !!

Canon EOS5D 17-40mm lens @ 17mm
Lightroom and Elements .. had to tweek the windows for detail !!

Apologies if this does not fit the groups ticked !!

It fits the Full Frame group! Is the green groin vaulting (ouch) HDR enhanced or was it naturally mossy?

    Nice tweaking, BTW.

  • I’m not a fan of HDR.. this is just tweeked .. the green cast I take it is the reflection from outside, but there would be something moss like in there, very open to the elements!! Plus there is a river running under this place, North Yorkshire not the driest of places even in summer !!
    Many thanks Stefan ..

I lived in York (Clifton) for a while and worked at Imphal barracks. I was lucky enough to do some sightseeing too. And I too have issues with HDR.

Funnily, On One software (the Perfect Suite people) which produces some good plug-ins, also has free on-line training about their products. One of the trainers (Matiash, I think) has taught me more about Photomatix as an aside for On One software than anywhere else.

If the link works, take a look at this

  • I was given the Photomatix Pro ..used it once !! but I am “Old School” dragged into the digital age kicking and screaming, and sometimes thinking is it real photography .. well yes it it is !! It also saves me a fortune on film, chemicals etc .. From the days of my dead FTb, my siezed F1, A1, Canon EOS5 (analog) and Pentax 6X7 etc .. I now have two Canon 5Ds !!
Software .. hmmm !! I use what suits me, I don’t need headaches or the expence of the all singing dancing of CS 999, things I just would not know how to use or don’t want to use .. I keep it simple !!
