I saw this fungi when walking in Back Wood, Doncaster, South Yorkshire , it is growing out of a Birch log, have no idea of the name so any help welcome.

I’m definately going with a variety of Pholiota here? Not sure which though. If you get a chance to spray WATER on it (I know…But trust me!)…you might get to see it’s skin jell up with goo. Can help with ID more then maybe… :o) Lucky you…Hoping to find SOMETHING today!
