A late takeoff of a Short Sunderland flying boat on it’s way back to Gibraltar after guiding Hawker Hurricanes to the island of Malta.
HMS Eddy was a lighter requisitioned by the Navy to help lay mines to deter attack on the Harbor.
HMS Eddy lies sunk after she in turn hit an enemy mine.
She can be still see and dived on 70 years later.
