Sonja in grey
Pencil and Ink on Strathmore Drawing Medium 130 gsm

Having been in Malta for the past month and having had to send all my paints by parcel post to the USA I am now bereft of painting materials except for my Indian and Japanese inks.
A few weeks ago a PIL Artist posted a photograph of herself in greyscale.
She, being a popular member, had quite a few artists take up the challenge and some excellent work produced. Even the one that stretched the imagination was most enjoyable.
Not having had time with my other work as well as not being inclined to competition I reneged on the invitation.
However, in the awkward position I find myself in for another week before I receive my paints I concluded that since this photograph is one of high artistic value I would experiment with a few techniques in Greyscale I have yet to trial.
In line with previous requests by others to show the procedure of creation I shall over a few days post all of the 8 photographs that lead to the final product.
Thank you Sonja for giving permission to be painted. You must be the apple of your father’s eyes and I am sure the star of many dreams.:o)
