I love this shot. It has far less post-processing than most of your work, which in and of itself is neither a “good” thing or a “bad” thing – rather it demonstrates an inherent appreciation for the beauty of the essential image, and it also clearly reflects that you began with an idea – to crate a mood,, an ambiance, one of mystery and foreboding. And it works, beautifully. Often, we can begin post processing an image without a CLEAR idea of where it will wind up, becoming inspired as we go. Much of what I do is in this vein, and that’s fine also. But I think the more difficult “challenge” is always to begin with the idea, and work towards achieving it in the image, something which taxes our imagination, and compels us to sort out what we want to say, difficult because it is so often wrapped up amidst a jumble of emotions, feelings, thoughts.

I love this, its one of those places your drying to check out, yet afraid to go in.

Hmmmm… you are growing more cinematic and portentous. Hmmm… on the other hand maybe you cannot portend more, given your ability to do that…. Okay… lemme stick with the cinematic feelings then… I can almost hear the music… or at least the sound track featuring high pitched crows?

Word of advise… seeking out images like this won’t do a lot for your insomnia. K? :-)
