CANYON WOLF

CANYON WOLF

A beautiful photograph of a wild wolf standing at the entranceway to a canyon, in the Blaeberry Valley in B.C., near Banff, where we are currently camping. Despite the wolf’s popular depiction as a vicious animal, wolves in the wild do not attack humans or react aggressively without reason. Shown respect, wild wolves are aloof and fascinating to observe. This wolf was simply watching us when I took this photo. US Presidential politicians John McCain and Sarah Palin, are actively promoting the cruel and unnecessary slaughter of thousands of wolves in the wild (including by aerial gunning) throughout the United States wilderness areas.

The same thing is happening in Canada. These politicians do not understand that wolves are very necessary to balance the ecology of the regions they inhabit. People are not endangered by wolves, wolves are endangered by people. Respect is all that is needed for humans and wolves (and bears etc.) to co-exist safely in the wild.

25% of all proceeds from this item benefits the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre in Golden B.C., Canada, as they strive to educate us about the beauty and nobility of these magnificent creatures. Thank you for caring.

What a gorgeous animal. Thank you for the info on what the presidential candidates are up to. That is frustrating. Congrats on the feature, well deserved.

Hi Norm, thank you for your kind words. That’s very nice of you. :o-)

Rhonda, I also appreciate your visit. It’s so important that we know our candidates before we vote and not after it’s too late to do something about. Sadly, Ms Palin delights in hunting and condones the active practice including I’m told, Seal hunting. It is deeply frustrating seeing people of that ilk, vying for power in your great nation. Get out and vote, folks and be heard! (stepping off my soapbox now lol) ~ Skye

Yikes! Seal hunting too?! I am surprised her being from Alaska and all. Just goes to show that it is difficult to know all there is about people that run for office. I keep learning new things all the time. Unfortunately I am not impressed by anyone this term, but this will weigh heavy in the vote, that’s for sure!

BEAUTIFUL SHOT, I’VE NEVER SEEN A WILD WOLF IN THE OUTDOORS, I’VE HAD 4 HIGH CONTENT WOLF HYBRIDS AS FAMILY MEMBERS, EVER SINCE 1977. ALL OF MY HIGH CONTENT WOLVES ARE PASSED ON NOW, BUT I HAVE A LOW CONTENT SIBERIAN/TIMBER WOLF NOW THAT WILL BE ONE YEAR OLD IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS. HIS LITTLE SISTER IS A LAB/SHEPHERD MIX OF ABOUT 46 POUNDS. I WAS HOPING SHE WOULD BE BIGGER BUT, IT DIDN’T HAPPEN. IF I HAD BEEN ABLE TO AFFORD ANOTHER HIGH CONTENT, SASHA WOULD HAVE BEEN ANOTHER WOLF. AND YOU ARE CORRECT ABOUT THEIR DIMEANER, WOLVES ONLY WANT TO SURVIVE. HOWEVER, IF YOU CORNER ONE, THERE IS A 50/50 CHANCE THAT HE WOULD TRY TO GO OVER YOUR HEAD TO GET AWAY, OR HE MIGHT JUST FEEL TRAPPED ENOUGH TO ATTACK, BUT I DOUGHT IT. I SURE DO MISS MY HIGH CONTENT KIDS. BOB ;)

Thanks Bob and I appreciate your sharing the information about your part-wolf babies! Lucky you! Wolves are such wonderful creatures and so suited to remaining in the wild. If only man would move over and give them a little more space. Cheers! Skye :o-)

I AGREE, PUREBRID WOLVES DON’T NEED TO BECOME PETS, THEY SHOULD BE LEFT IN THE WILD AND LEFT ALONE. WHENEVER I SEE SOMEONE SHOOT A WOLF, I WANT TO SHOOT THAT PERSON. I’VE NEVER BEEN MUCH OF A HUNTER. I’VE GOT LOTS OF TROPHIES WITH MY CAMERA, I DON’T NEED TO KILL THEM TO HAVE A TROPHIE ON MY WALL. NO MATTER WHAT ANIMAL IT IS. I DON’T DISAGREE WITH HUNTING, IT HAS IT’S PURPOSE, BUT WOLVES SHOULD BE LEFT ALONE SO THEY CAN DO WHAT WOLVES DO. BOB ;)
