Crow Zone

Crow Zone was created in photoshop using four different images and four layers, one for the background, one for the birds in the distance, and one each for the two crows in the near foreground…. I then flattened the image and saved it as a .psd.. I then converted it to black and white and used the “History Brush Tool” to bring back some of the colour in the parts that I wanted, and to finish off… a little bit of burning was done to create shadows under the two crows so that they didn’t look like they were just floating there, it can sometimes look very false if you forget about the all important shadows…

    I like the angle of capture (you must have been close to or over the edge). The selective coloured areas draws the eye over that lovely bride and along the pathway very nicely and into yet another great image. p.s. Love the crows.

    Well, I couldn’t hardy believe it when he was given the job, I said at the time Mike Ashley only chose Keegan to please the fans . . . a lot of us were anything but pleased. At the time I wanted Gerrard Houlier.

    Beautiful job, Great texture and contrast add to the mood. Reminds me of the crows bedding down for the night on the Baja penninsula, they were flocking to the tree like this with cabanas all along the curve of the beach leading in, i’ll see if I can’t find the photo.
