THIS COMES FROM MY HEART WHAT I WOULD WISH FOR UNDER MY CHRISTMAS TREE HEARFELT HUGS AND BLESSINGS TO ALL HUGS BONITA.
UNDER MY TREE
If I could have anything under my tree,
I’d wish dear old Santa bring nothing for me.
Instead, I’d ask this (for whatever it’s worth)
To give it away to the rest of the Earth.
Please give to the lady whose cupboards are bare,
The sweet smell of cookies, to lure her where,
Like magic, she’d find when she opened her door
Enough food on her shelf for a year, maybe more.
Please give to the husband who longs for his wife,
Let her once say his name, and remember their life,
He’s waited so long to hear her recall,
Just give them some memories to share… that’s all.
Please give to the soldier who is still away,
The promise that he will fly home one day,
And instead of giving, please take this from him,
The fear and the loneliness growing within.
Please give to the griever who folks have forgot,
(She still cries at night, yes, she still cries a lot)
Give her a good dream then wake her with this,
A touch on her cheek from her angel’s kiss.
Please give to the boy who lives down the road,
(The one who calls cardboard his humble abode)
A home made of wood with a chimney and door,
With a place for his dog to curl up on the floor.
Please give to the child who has lost all her hair,
Not a pretty blond doll nor a teddy bear,
She takes all her medicine but misses her bed,
Just give her a cure, and the morning instead.
And lastly I ask, please give to all those,
(Who have all these gifts right under their nose)
That could they have anything under their tree,
Please give them the same thing you’re giving to me
