This is an image taken by NASA of the Tarantula Nebula.
The Tarantula Nebula (also known as 30 Doradus, or NGC 2070) is an H II region in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). It was originally thought to be a star, but in 1751 Nicolas Louis de Lacaille recognized its nebular nature.

This would be a fantastic entry to this challenge Space iphones, it looks beautiful! :O)

  • Thanks! I looked at the challenge though – isn’t it a challenge for ‘space art’? For ideas that people have created? I’m not sure this design would comply with the rules, as it’s an actual photo :)

It’s a group for any kind of space artworks, I use the NASA images in my artworks alot, the iphone Galaxy I have displayed is a NASA photo, what I do is manipulate them a bit though, I often layer another shot or add more stars or different colours, just so it’s a bit different to the actual NASA shot, this is a fab entry, I am the Moderator, it’s my group and this is fine! :O)

  • Ok great! thanks for clearing that up :)
