Actually Kieran, it did not look so dramatic to the eye…..just a few whiffy clouds hanging below the ceiling. The drama was brought out with the telephoto lens compressing the scene. The only work I did was some levels tweaking.

Hi Sazfab,
I did increase the contrast to make the sun more of a defined circle. That also had the effect of making the foreground clouds much darker. This was taken during the fires a few years ago, so there was also some smoke in the lower atmosphere. It looked very much like this, except the dark clouds now look much closer and more dramatic.
