Self Portrait in my Kitchen

6:00 AM in my Kitchen 8X10 Pen and Ink on Water Color Paper : It started simply enough. It was going to be a cartoon like Jazzy’s. Then it got reflective and very sad, kind of like real estate and the economy. Dangerous to put a mirror infront of me now when I have a sharpie pen.

Love it. Not the economy, but the drawing.

  • Randy Sprout replied

Thanks Jim, I guess I’ll get over it all when I retire, hah! 1st time I ever really drew anything while being depressed, and I guess it really shows.

I love the economy of the drawing. :)
(what IS a sharpie? USAmericans talk about it…Is it a brand-name-felt-tip-pen, or a pen you dip in ink?)

  • Randy Sprout replied

Its a very small felt tip that is somehow more durable, Thanks.

    I like this – I don’t think it’s such a sad-looking drawing – The fact that you’re painting in the drawing is a happy event :)

  • Randy Sprout replied

Thanks Lora but that was really a low and that is my magic sharpie pen, not a paintbrush, Hah!
