A Lone Child

She lay there, young and alone
As still as a stone, though she cried
Out for her creator, who cannot be found
For she died, of a broken heart
She was broken, although she fulfilled her part

It is a cold and lonely night
And there is nothing in her sight
Except the eerie darkness
Surrounding her, engulfing her
The painting of her destiny
Is ripped and torn, and is no more

She shivers as something moves
By her arm she feels the wind
But no more, nothing comes
And picks her up and takes her home

Now the grave where she lays
Amongst the others is marked
But only by a date, no name…
