Oh my, what an interesting find. Lovely in B&W too!
Ranald replied
Thanks Wendi. The Selkirk Standard Bearer rides up here every year. 1500 feet up on horseback. Not bad!

Nice Black and White,
Amazing how much the Cloud cover soothes the Drama down in Contrast to a Raging sky

Hi Ranald. We have some modern day versions of what we call wurlies on the road in to the city of Adelaide from the airport. Interesting to compare notes!
Ranald replied
I suppose they do looke like bee hives! They’d need to be tough bees though.

When I first saw our Adelaide version I thought they might be bee hives!

Wow, stunning photograph! This is where HDR works well to get the best of the picture(s) [I really don’t like those overcooked with unreal colors and broad halo’s], and looks great in B&W :)
Ranald replied
I couldn’t agree more. I was not keen on HDR for that very reason, until I tried it!

Wow – i love that arched shape in the background of the upper right sky—it borders those beautiful shapes perfectly – is there a place called Cairns in your neck of the woods?
Ranald replied
Thanks. It was a contrail from a plane and I never spotted it when I was taking the shots. There isn’t a place called Cairns, I knew about the place where you are. Here cairns were used to mark the boundaries of territory and that’s what these ones do. Latterly there has been a fad for walkers and climbers to build cairns at the tops of hills (like the stump of one you can see in Eildon sunset). Those ones mean nothing at all.
