Some gave all

We went for a visit to the California State Capital in Sacramento on Memorial Day weekend. We stopped by to hear some of the reading of the names of those who gave all during the Vietnam War. We stepped inside the memorial to pay honor to those who are no longer with us.

I’ve never seen this monument, but it certainly is powerful. I’m glad that you not only got a beautiful capture, but that you could honor those lost as well…

  • E.R. Bazor replied

Thank you Polly. I was taking my friend and her 10 year old son to the California Capital and wanted to also show him some of the war memorials honoring those Californias who have given their lives for their country. I don’t think he really ‘got it’ and I hope his generation never does really understand. It would be nice to have a very…very long period of peace.

A beautiful tribute to those who paid the ultimate price so that we may live a life of peace and freedom, we all have a duty to remember the fallen heroes,
    Regards, Rod.

Especially those who gave all or came home from Vietnam…so many received less than a warm welcome. I am so glad that we have matured a bit as a country and once again honor those who serve.

I was doing my best to capture the feeling of Memorial Day.
I totally agree…so many have come home from so many wars so damaged in so many ways…or not come home at all…and we should all honor their sacrafice to their country.

Excellent shot. I also learnt something today. I didn’t realise Sacramento was your capital. I thought L.A. was. (It’s been a long time since I went to school, and geography was never my strong point.) (haha).
