The Gibson Steps are an area of cliffs on the south coast of Australia. The cliffs are the first sightseeing stopoff in Port Campbell National Park for travellers heading West along the Great Ocean Road, located about 2 minutes drive from The Twelve Apostles. The name Gibson Steps refers to the staircase leading down to the stretch of beach.

A staircase carved and concreted is where you will descend to access the Beach. The decent is quite easy but has many steps and gives you an appreciation of the enormity of these cliff faces. The beach itself is set in an isolated cove encased by the cliff faces.

The beach is wild with rich red sands and the incoming waves echo throughout the cove displaying the force the Great Southern Ocean.

There are also excellent viewing platforms at the top of the Cliffs faces that offer fantastic views of this untamed coastline.
