We caught the gondola to the top of this hill which is the only way up unless you prefer walking. The views from up here were magnificent. The snow capped mountains in the background are the Remarkables and the water you see below is Lake Wakatipu. We absolutely froze that night. There was a very strog wind blowing and it was icy cold.

I have always had a love of capturing images and in my early teens took many photographs on my little Kodak camera. I loved the wild open spaces and bird life in particular and longed to be able to be an accomplished photographer. It took ill health and a forced early retirement to re-kindle this love of photography. I am a self-taught amateur photographer who has had no formal training. I take great pride and joy in my work and these days have the time to pursue this wonderful hobby.

Magnificent, awesome view I am sure you both had a great time up there.

  • Thanks Andrea. We did enjoy the views but the cold wind was terrible. Vilette was hiding behind a wall but I was copping the full force of it in the open. Things we do to get a photograph.
