“Feed my mind with depth and image
make me sigh out loud with its beauty
make me never want to breath again
Make me never want to look away…”
~ Renae Grundy
This collage was Inspired by various fairytale themes… which include Omens, Quests, Princesses and Queens…
In versions of the Russian tale “The Firebird” and also from the Maiden Tsar (The Maiden King) ~ representing The Reunion of Masculine and Feminine written by Robert Bly and Marion Woodman.
Here is excerpt from Chapter One of their book called “The Maiden King” which is a phrase meant to carry a contradiction: she is not a woman Queen, but a woman King. We know from other stories that this is a divine being, sometimes called the “Woman with Golden Hair.” She isn’t a Queen, for that term would imply a King of her same rank. She is the King. She doesn’t participate in opposites: the Queen vs. the King, or night vs. day. She does not belong to this world of opposites; the world we live in is a place of opposites, moon and sun, right and wrong, left and right, joy and sorrow, masculine and feminine. She is the unity of opposites."
