*From the Third Man to the Ragman
The Third Man film celebrated it’s 60th anniversary in 2009 (1949 ~ 2009)

Carol Reed director of The Third Man, I will always associate as the male director with a female name directing the leading character Holly Martins another strong impressive male with a female name.
However what legacy is left with me is his dramatic lighting and film sets, which gave introduce the monochrome’s twin towers ~ light and shade, and shape and form in combination and fusion for intensity and impact, something which is not lost on my own work.

wonderful shot! very powerful with how sharp and striking and bold the silhouette of the man is! the angle also makes it that much more interesting because its hard to decipher if the shadow is on the wall or somewhere on the ground. the hat is either a touch of brilliance or just pure luck, but it definitely completes the air of the picture. whats the guy doing wearing that hat? going to work? going home? maybe going to finish a “job?” haha, great shot…as usual!
Thank you Alyssa
