    Sorry Ragman, I can’t help noticing poles growing out of people’s heads either … I’d be tempted to clone out the second head, but that would arguably make the shot less interesting. Annoying isn’t it?

    white horses are known as greys or grays;

    RAW is the Nikon NEF capture format in camera which retains all information to work on afterwards, rather than jpeg which takes decisions for you

    I saw the white ponies and thought that it seemed they could only come from Ireland. I don’t know what it is about the shot – the mist, the soft light, the ramshackle fence or the ponies themselves but the image could be a metaphor for a bit of the Irish condition.

    Congrats on the feature! This is just a lovely photograph. I love horses and so I would like it for the two horses alone…especially since they are grays, my fave:)....but this is just exceptional with all of the texture against the softness, the composition, and the effects…lovely!
