Just a few more steps

Just a few more steps

Personally this is one of my favourites; as it reminds me of a boys journey through life and the steps he has to learn to climb.

Everytime I look at it, the boy reminds me much of myself and the steps and the journeys that I have taken in life; the places I’ve gone, the people I’ve met, and all the adventures and affairs. Now I feel ‘Just a few more steps, and I’ll be home’

the thing that strikes me about this picture is that you don’t have it straightened based on the stairs, it almost seems like you have it positioned to favor the angle the boy was leaning at while walking up the stairs, which in turn makes it seem like the buildings are crooked and it keeps the eye wandering. The first thing I see when I look at this picture is the boy because the light is so prominently shining on him on the dark stairs, but after seeing him, i cant help but look up to see the three different designed windows on the back building, and how the top one is half black and half white, which is almost a direct representation of the picture as a whole because if you had to split the entire picture in half based on light sides and dark sides, you would do it with the lighter side being on the left and the darker side being on the right. so it comes full circle, and i think way too much about pictures, as you can see :)
