Balloon Glow

Really great color! And clarity! Good work! :) Think I’m particle to your featured one on WB though. (just my opinion)

oh my gosh Rachel – this is beautiful. I have just posted a couple of photos of the Adirondack Balloon Festival – but I wasn’t able to get any pictures like this. It is stunning!!

I think it was the last one posted titled “winding down’......lol …

Welcome to RB! This is an awesome shot, being the first try even makes it better! I tried to get something like that, but it just happened in my mind, our balloons didn’t really lit up in the same time, and my position wasn’t the best either, but this Summer was my first time to try something like that, so hopefully next year I can own a picture like that or at least close to it. :)

Thanks Mariann! I was lucky that every few minutes there was a coordinated burn, which allowed plenty of opportunities to shoot the balloons. There were only about 20 balloons that participated in the balloon glow but they were all together in a cordoned off area. I would have liked to get some shots farther away in order to get “the big picture” but then all the spectators would be in the photo.

Please feel comfortable here. I am somewhat new to RB, too, but after a while I realized that this site is meant for everyone and anyone who has a passion for their art, whatever their specialty, or present ability. We are ALL here to grow and learn and develop our talents, and there is no way to expect everyone to enter here at the same level of expertise. At first, I found myself humbly apologizing and offering my heartfelt thanks for the elite to allow me to even hang out in the kitchen, just to be able to watch the show through the door window.

But, I no longer worry that I don’t belong here anymore, and everyone is so very nice. You will make countless friends, but be careful you don’t get too addicted. I must admit that personally, RB is my only vice, but it sure is a doozy. I was extremely intimidated by what I kept seeing over and over again from artists that I considered magicians and kings and queens, and I was but a mere jester feeling foolish in the courtyard. But you know, since then I have developed many new friendships and earned a little respect, and this eventually allowed me to concentrate on learning, and applying that knowledge into my new photos, but not preventing me from posting some that have been sitting idly by for years, just waiting for their opportunity to be seen and shared and even at times sincerely admired. But it is not only about ourselves… I anxiously look forward to seeing what’s new each and every day..Every HOUR! on RedBubble from my friends and a thousand others that I haven’t even discovered yet.

It looks like you must have already known the awesome feeling of delight to be receiving comments about the work you thought might be too inferior to post here.

I CAN”T afford a Nikon! I’ve been with PENTAX since 1969! I bought my first while stationed in Okinawa, I still use the lenses on my Digital troday! The quality of the glass is very good! JUST razing you on the Canon! ;~))
