Eyes Wide Shut

My niece… I painted her face today with face paint. The kids are planning a circus for next weekend and she is supposed to be a clown so we were experimenting with ideas for her face, This is her with her eyes closed. I painted eyes on her eyelids.

Follow up: So it ended up being more of a circus theme party and we set up a little face painting booth because of course everyone wanted to be painted, even the adults. It was lots of fun but I had no time to take photos :(

This has a watercolor filter applied to it.

Great job on the face painting, but also as a photograph and filter application, Rachel! I love the colors, painting eye on her eye lid is a great idea, specially if she will keep blinking. :)

I will try to get a good one of her next Friday at their “circus” with her eyes open. I didn’t get many shots this time… just to show her what she looked like with her eyes closed.

I have that syndrome where anything ‘clown’ like freaks me out. Its horrid. Im terrified of a clown and its about the only thing Im scared of. Always have been. I didnt realize I would too feel the same with a female clown – whoa… for me – emotive! ; (

Many people have a phobia of clowns it seems. I guess it is the idea of something being what it is not… or rather, someone. She is just 6 yrs old though :)

clowns scare me.. i think its just their ability to hide behind a mask.. but i often loved sad clowns.. sge looks so blue .. so much so that i want to rush and give her a BIG hug

I’m sorry,.. I missed this comment somehow but wanted to thank you… she wasn’t feeling well that day so was not very animated and it is interesting how that can come across in a photo even with face paint on :)

Thank you Brandy.. I was looking forward to getting some more shots when we had the little party for the kids but I was so busy painting I did not have time to take any photos. My hands were even shaking so bad at one point I said “Okay kids I have GOT to go eat so my hands will stop shaking… be right back!” They absolutely loved the face painting… thanks for your comment!
