The Fire

The fire burns slowly as the shadows on the wall dance to the music of our voices.
His hands touch my skin with a searing passion that I cannot describe.
My body talks back with a howl I have never heard before.
His mouth touches mine as if he is sharing my breath.
The blanket in the floor wraps our bodies into one.
His fingers inflame my skin as if he has known my body forever.
He looks at me with all the wisdom that I can handle….then….
I wake up.
