I’ve been into photography since the age of 17. Given that I’m now 48, I guess it’s absorbed a fair chunk of my life so far.
Nowadays I work as a full time professional photographer specialising in modified car photography. More recently I have become involved in architectural photography where I get to photograph properties owned by people much wealthier than myself.
I also occasionally shoot and write for several outdoor magazines where I document my various outdoor pursuits like bushwalking and mountaineering.
In my earlier days I operated a wedding photography service until I realised that life is way too short to be doing the jobs you hate. That’s not what photography’s about.
I shut the wedding service down and did a 4 year certificate course in commercial photography.
On graduation, much to the horror of my fellow students and teachers alike I decided to move into the world of modified car photography. In those days it was considered ‘down market’, but remember what I said about life being too short? After 20 years of shooting modified cars for a living there are not many jobs I’d swap it for.
