The Gardens were a vast construction of one large centre garden with smaller ones leading off from it. Each of these gardens contained items from the past right up to modern day. There were glass boxes with instruments in from travels to distant planets. There was no rain on this planet, “The planet Kori,” as the Doctor explained to Amy and Rory, “Has no rain and never will have.”
“Then how do they grow crops to eat and how do they keep the flowers alive if there’s no water?” Amy asked.
The Doctor turned suddenly making Amy come to a sudden halt in front of him, Rory bumping into her, “Ah,” he said as he raised his hand with one finger pointing to the sky, “Now I never said they had no water. I said they had no rain.” He stretched his arm up pointing into the air, “No clouds, means no water evaporated, means no rain. Doesn’t mean no water,” he explained pointing his finger down at the ground. “Mining. Underground mining for water. Must be how they get it.” He looked round, a sudden unsure look crossing his face.
He stuck his has hand into his jacket and pulled out his Sonic Screwdriver. He twiddled about with a few settings and then stooped down and held it low to the ground holding down the button. Its tip glowed green and it buzzed as he waved it back and forth across the gravel type ground.
The Doctor jumped to his feet the unsure look still on his face. He turned a full 360 then ran off down one of the paths.
Amy and Rory took off after him. They were used to this now. The Doctor would run and they would follow onto an adventure that would involve danger and excitement.
It would have been straight forward following him, but this place was a maze and the two had trouble catching up with him as he darted this way and that through the high tree walls of the gardens.
“Whys he got to have long legs?” Amy panted.
They were so busy running that they nearly ran straight past him. He was stooped low again taking readings. Rory was about to ask him what was happening when the Doctor was off again, running this time towards a rather large mansion looking house.
Rory made a gesture of not again and looked at Amy.
She held out her hand for him to take and the two strolled casually after the Doctor looking around at the various articles on display. Amy had a hunch the mansion was where he was going.
