Knossos: Antechamber of the Throne Room by 


Identified by Sir Aurthur Evans, who excavated the site between 1900 and 1931, as an antechamber of the throne room. The porphyry basin was found near the location it is in and was thought by Aurthur Evans to have been used for purification rituals.
