Rather than me doing all the talking…
I thought I’d interview the designer and find out exactly what’s been going on…
A) It’s always a pleasure working with you Paul thank you so much for being a part of the shoot. Fashion Week was amazing and saw an incredible team pull together to support the label…many thanks to all. It was great too… to have media and the public coming along to see the working s of a fashion shoot and cover our events Style Melbourne
Q) From a few of the images I’ve seen from Fashion Week, your new designs seem to have a real emphasis on vivid color and designs that have a very feminine silhouette, was that your plan?
A) Yes I was wanting to inject some color and texture into the range Spring Summer is always a great time to have fun with it all and create some new silhouettes.
Q) Apart from all the work you do as a designer, how’s all your marketing going and what kind of press (hard copy and online) has featured you and / or your work?
As a new label up against the large events and labels we were delighted with the full page feature in the hardcopy of the program available all over Melbourne, the online promotions run by the City of Melbourne listing all of our events and the inclusion of our label in the Thats Melbourne online competition, we also had many photographers including Missy Miss press ‘Style Melbourne’ gave us and the many other photographers that attended and have the images on smugmug, facebook etc.
Q) Your models were all absolutely gorgeous, who were they and how did you go about getting the girls to model your creations?
A) Really I am so very lucky and very grateful to each and every person who lent a hand my models in particular were very generous and I would like to thank the following:
Kane Draper Fabulous hunk and an intelligent gentleman to boot.
Chantelle Raleigh Ex ballerina WAG and was recently shortlisted as Melb Spring Carnival Spruiker.
Metalle Balot Miss World Victoria Ambassador – gorgeous.
Shereen Kiddle Milkk: PR genius and divine person.
Samantha Dodemaide Multi talented actress currently being considered by Disney for major role in Japan.
Lara Shannon Our very own Keep Australia Beautiful campaign manager – not just a pretty face.
Catherine Cervasio Business woman extraordinaire and founder of Aromababy.
Tori Bellentina Multi talented this recent graduate has already worked with some of Australia’s top musicians and designers.
Q) What’s next for Lisa and Landell Fashions? That remains to be seen, for now it is back to the workroom sourcing fabrics and trims. I do love my work, it’s what excites me. Let’s hope it is a label you start seeing in outlets Australia wide.
A)I am currently looking at potential stockists and wanting to get the label into the mainstream, I have been busy working on Winter 2010 and am hoping to establish a firm wholesale base with the idealistic view of having a flagship store one day.
Once more thank you to everyone who has been a part of the journey…. and thank you once again Paul! xxx
