Nice one Paul! Your work gets better and better. I can’t begin to imagine the hassle of trying to do a shot like this in the U.K. so much security/red tape/paranoia etc.etc. I was recently thrown out of the city station just for hanging around with an SLR round my neck! Anyway Great Image…D.

You know what? This is the problem with living in Belgium. We NEVER find anything like this on the trains here. It is so boring!
What I love about this, aside from the warm tonal balance and amazing lighting technique and compelling composition, is its subtlety. You give us only what we need to know to tell the story, the rest of the image is quiet and anonymous… like 4:30 AM after everyone with any sense has gone home, and she is the only one left with her personal story while the outside world is getting ready to start a new day. You`ve presented us with a mood that reminds probably most of us of a situation we`ve been in ourselves at one point in our lives—not that I`ve found myself alone on a train in a nightdress, but its just the mood. Finding myself alone, early in the morning, stuck with my own personal story, while the rest of the world prepares to move on. Maybe I`m seeing this all wrong and you think I`m just sad… or nutz… but I have to say that this picture has made me stop and linger and think and relate, and this for me is the sign of a successful work of art.

And Jo, if you`re looking, you are amazing. Coincidence or not, you seem to be a part of most of the pictures that have the deepest impact on me. Wicked.
