Born From This Earth Into A New Age Jungle.
- Imagine being born again.
Only this time your mother is the earth and you come fully equipped with memories, knowledge and a belief system.
What raw emotions are evoked when the first thing you are confronted with is an environment completely foreign to what you were expecting?
Fear, confusion, doubt and loneliness.
Or because of the new environment one may lose their inhibitions, feel joy or perhaps discover inner strength and courage.
Maybe the nine images are a true metaphorical reflection of the artists soul?
His background and love for the stage and theatre.
His longing to find true love and a wanting audience.
The ongoing battle of time and money between industry and creative
fulfilment.
Born from this earth, the series, everyone deserves a new beginning, a chance to start over.
- Part of a series that will be exhibited (and on sale – signed & limited to an edition of 2) during Art Melbourne April 09 at The Royal Exhibition Buildings in Melbourne.

Such clever work. Great from concept through to outcome.
“Both the grand and the intimate aspects of nature can be revealed in the expressive photograph. Both can stir enduring affirmations and discoveries, and can surely help the spectator in his search for identification with the vast world of natural beauty and the wonder surrounding him” Ansel Adams.

i love the man meets machine, or machine makes man theme. the fragility of a naked human being around so much rough/angular/cold/industry is a great metaphor. as the old song goes “i sold my soul to the company store.” fantastic mono work Paul.

Paul, I have loved every single one of your Born From This Earth series. Such vision inspired by a piece of discarded ducting. Now that has got Inspired Artist written all over it… I wish you every success with your exhibition.

This feels like a still from Fritz Langs 1927 movie”Metropolis”...if you don’t know it I’m sure you’d love it… he filmed people in giant machines, with pipes, dials and cogs..you’re photo has that aura, a classic…. here is still I found….along those lines…
