Transitional Industrial Utopia - .02

Paul Louis Villani

Transitional Industrial Utopia - .02

Captured along my travels, a part of Victoria that just keeps growing. This is my kind of landscape, I feel at home amongst the concrete and steel. Used an 11 – 17mm with the perspective corrected. This is another from the Transitional Industrial Utopia series.

Check out this awesome rendition of this image by the wonderful Rose Moxon

that structure against that brilliant blue sky is awesome!

  • Sarah Matthews

    Sarah Matthews

What a surreal sight. I like the composition, but I also feel it might work at a lower angle, to exaggerate the size of those concrete slabs. I love the way each window has its fragment captured within it.

  • Paul Louis Villani

    Paul Louis Vil...

Thank you so very much Spike!!! (love that nic name!!)
..and thanks also to Sarah Matthews! Sarah, you make a great suggestion and I’ll let you in on the shoot. This particular wall I shot for about 15 minutes and yes from down low and from all sorts of different perspectives and lenses. Once I got home and started the post prod this was the only angle that worked for me. I’m sure if I posted three or four more pics of the same wall from varied perspectives they would’ve pleased the eye of different people. I really have to admit too that it wasn’t until I corrected the perspective (lens distortion) of this particular image that it actually made any sense to me! :D

The concrete parts are kind of Daliesque, but I don’t remember which painting. (Something in bright sunlight with sticks holding things up). Anyway, I digress…this is a rather compelling piece PLV. (Suggested sub-tiltle: “It’s all a Facade?”)
