The Photographer

Paul Louis Villani

The Photographer

Inspiration supplied by MIssKrissty and her magical poem Photographer
After reading MissKristy’s wonderful piece, it tweaked my memory of an image of a photographer I took a while back, so I tracked it down and just had to upload it! It’s funny because I was watching this young lady struggle to get the shot she wanted and there I was about 6 meters away standing at 6’3” looking over the crowd!! LOL!! ...and what is it about us photographers taking photos of other photographers taking photos!! ?? hehehe!
.
Image was digitally captured using a Sony Alpha 100 with a 28 – 75mm.

Oh ho ho my God… I can sympathize with this girl so much!!! You wouldn’t believe how many times I had to do that when taking pictures of people in dance clubs!

And photographers can be really interesting to capture… mainly when you look at all the positions we get ourselves into in order to get the shot we want.

props to you for capturing an image that speaks directly to my heart, Paul! love it!

This poor lady has my empathy… at 5’3” I have to wear steel cap boots in crowds to avoid getting stomped on. Well captured Paul!! It looks like our Kristy has been the inspiration of many with her poem… not unsurprising ;)

  • Daniel Rarela

    Daniel Rarela

    your welcome, Paul!

lol the stories i could tell, just from this photo alone… i used to have some real tense moments when the people dancing in the clubs would accidentally knock the lens cap out of my hands, or knock into the lens itself :O

ever try to find a lens cap in the middle of a crowded and active dance floor? its a total nightmare….

that girl and i are kindered spirits, truly…

  • Paul Louis Villani

    Paul Louis Vil...

“when you look at all the positions we get ourselves into in order to get the shot we want.”

    SO TRUE DOCTOR J!!!

I was climbing amongst slippery slimey rocks yesterday, practising my lumberjack skills moving dead tree limbs and a couple not so dead (oops!) trying to get photo’s of the waterfall at the bottom of my steps that I posted today. My jeans ended up covered in muck, I have bruises on my bum from where I fell over (several times) and I am pretty sure I dislocated a couple of vertebrae in my neck for one particular shot!

  • Paul Louis Villani

    Paul Louis Vil...

    LOL!!
You go girl!! Good on ya Rhana, that’s the true spirit of a photgrapher right there!! :D

  • Lisa Jewell

    Lisa Jewell

LOL… I should not laugh Bella but I see it….

What about me, I don’t take the photos, I just follow the photographer, break into places, scale walls I can’t…and get very dirty at times too…

hmmmm might have to think about that…

  • Christine Wilson

Excellent shot and poem to go with it. Strange though, I do this type of random/hopeful/chance your luck sort of shot at festivals and such like. With the advent of digital (and the noble art of chimping) it can become an acquired taste :-)

  • Paul Louis Villani

    Paul Louis Vil...

Thanks Wickerman, you’re spot on about it becoming an acquired taste but what in the world is “Chimping”? Is it the same as “gorillaring” or “Orangatanging” ‘cause i’m really good at those!! hehehe! ;p
