I am primarily a self-taught artist, having no formal training other than art classes in high school. Through experimentation with mediums such as graphite, pen and ink, oil, and watercolor, I settled on pen and ink as my medium of choice, because it allowed me to incorporate the painstaking detail that I love to infuse into my art. Loving animals large and small, domestic and wild, the animal kingdom became the main focus in my work. A few years ago, I discovered colored pencil, and my black and white world suddenly became filled with color! Although my subject matter has not changed, nor my love of detail, the rich colors of Prismacolor pencils are the only medium I currently use, and the change has been dramatic, both for me and my art.
