My big toes splits a big bubble
and pushes it too one side.
The steam makes me hold my breath
A nervous flutter inside.
My foot disappears and i gasp.
My foot, then my toe. My ankle follows.
One foot, two feet. I stand then I crouch.
I look to the side, the big mirror looks back
Just like it always hasBut it’s not me. Not a child. It’s me. A woman.I stop. I am shocked.I forgot I’m eighteen.I stare at my breasts and my hipsIn the mirror, through the steamMy curves and my legs. When did it change?Hair that is here,Hair wasn’t there. But i laugh, I don’t care.I smile inside. I am beautiful.
