    Lee Burgess

    Thank you so much everyone

This is straight out of the camera.. no photoshop and believe it not, water was the main adhesive! I tried stick glue, but that failed and I remembered when I was little I used to stick them on me by licking them (not the pointy side!) We have a blackish table so that proved uesful for a slight reflection.. And a 50mm 1.8 Lens for the dof!

That’s about it really! :) Thanks again! Glad you enjoyed viewing!

Great image! I was just getting ready to comment on what a great photoshop manipulation this was when I read that you physically stuck the thorns on the rose! and that’s what makes this even more impressive the fact that it is not photoshopped! Love it!

the simplicity and concept here work very well. I heard an interesting comment the other day about avoiding things in your life that hurt you. A lot of people do it, but would you not touch or admire a rose again if you pricked by it, sometimes the most beautiful things in the world can hurt us, but it does not mean we should avoid them, we should try and embrace them – anyway bit of a long winded story there but this picture bought this thought to my mind so i thought i would share it…. great work!!
