This is a close up detail from a very large painting called “Attachment”. As though looking through a magnified glass on the surface of this particular piece, one is able to create a whole new world of images I call pure abstract. The name “glory” reflects the brilliancy of the colors that are the majestic cobalt red in a wax pigment medium and oil paints in a lemon yellow turpentine wash. Cotton thread is sewn through the canvas and melted wax is painted over the oils. Deep, dark space surrounds the landmass of bright colors, lending a feeling of endlessness.
When art is purely abstract it feeds the sentient part of our beings, satisfying our eyes with a feast of colors and texture.
Hopefully these images will inspire those who view them.
