Baby Gorilla
This was amazing to watch, I walked past them a few times during the day but this Mum and Bub pair were always hiding, on my way out of the zoo they were out for a stroll and was lucky enough to get a few snaps!
Lowland Gorillas are critically endagered in the Wild, Taronga Zoo in Sydney have had great success with there breeding program so far, with several youngsters born in the short time they have had them.

Oh, he’s sooooooo lovely Steve. I was lucky enough to visit a group of lowland Gorillas in Uganda several years ago and the baby of the group was definitely the most memorable for me! He stared at us curiously as he munched away on his leaves, unthreatened by us but inquisitive all the same. The casual way he pulled at the branches bringing the leaves to his mouth without moving his gaze from us, hanging from one arm and one leg rotating his head to continue his gaze as he swung on the branch in a very childlike manner. Unfortunately these shots are not digitalised as they were taken with my pre digital age SLR!! The shots are quite dark anyway because the group was in a valley by the time we found them in the early afternoon. Thank you sooooo much for sharing this photo and bringing back such beautiful memories. I’ll be off to the zoo soon for sure!
