This was the moon this morning, so i got out my camara and took some shots with the 400mm and a 2x TC

Focal Len 800mm 400mm + 2x TC (1200mm)

    That is a great view of the moon mate. It can be difficult to take, but you have succeeded admirably.

  • Thanks Davo, yes i agree to many shots of the moon are out of focus, to much heat haze, it is so hard to get right, took me about 20 shots.

    Not a bad result for a teleconverter… and the Sony does a nice job too. Great capture.

  • Yes the SAL70-400 is a 4-5.6 so at 2x it makes it a 8-11, still a fast lens for 800mm

  • also you need a fast lens with the moon, it can move from one side of the view finder to the next in a couple of minutes… I think i had to move the shot about 10 or more times when doing this shoot…
